What It Takes to Overcome Restlessness

     Henry got a U.S. postage stamp with his face on it. If he were living today, what would Henry David Thoreau say about that?
​   He was, after all, the naturalist who retreated for two years, two months, and two days to a simple house he built in the woods by Walden Pond. He wished to come to his bearings, "not walk in procession with pomp and parade, in a conspicuous place.”
   This plaque along Clear Creek trail captured my heart with Thoreau’s intentions nearly two centuries ago. He struggled with “the restless, nervous, bustling, trivial Nineteenth Century.” He determined to “stand or sit thoughtfully while it goes by.”
​    How much more in this restless, nervous, bustling, sometimes trivial twenty-first Century do I need to stand or sit thoughtfully?​​
